20kW Residential Package
Make your home’s daytime electricity use the starting point for solar. MJM Solar’s 20kW residential package is designed for Perth homes with suitable roofs and substantial household electricity use.
A 20kW solar system in Perth needs more than a panel count and a headline price. We review how your household uses electricity, the proposed installation area and the electrical setup to develop a relevant quote.

Package Overview
Package detail and proposed configuration for a typical 20kW design. Every figure is confirmed in your site-specific quote.
20 kW package; exact array rating and panel count shown in your quote
20 kW inverter configuration, with exact equipment and connection requirements confirmed for the site
Solis, Sigenergy, GoodWe, FoxESS, subject to model suitability and availability
Roof mounting, electrical work and commissioning as itemised in your site-specific quote
Optional; separately specified and priced

Usage Patterns
Look at when your home imports electricity. Daytime air conditioning, pool equipment, a home office or electric hot water may create opportunities to use solar as it is generated. A household that is empty on weekdays can have a different self-consumption pattern from one with someone home all day.
Share a recent bill, your household routine and interval meter data where available. Include seasonal changes or planned new appliances such as an EV or electric hot water. The proposal should show how those patterns affect the system choice.
The proposal should show how these patterns affect the system choice.
Request a written installed quote with the equipment and work scope broken down. The panel and inverter models, roof mounting, access arrangements, electrical changes and connection work can all affect the project price.
Confirm GST treatment and show any eligible incentive separately. An option with different equipment should be compared on the same scope, including warranties and exclusions. Ask how quote variations will be handled if the site assessment identifies extra work.
≈88 kWh / day
Illustrative Perth annual average
An illustrative Perth annual average is about 88 kWh/day, using the Australian Government benchmark. Actual output varies; request a site-specific monthly forecast.
Export & Surplus
The proposed system needs a connection assessment. The panel capacity, inverter output and allowed export are different values; they should not be used interchangeably. Your design should describe any limits that apply to sending electricity into the grid.
Distinguish electricity used on site from exported surplus.
Ask for the actual tariff assumptions and any export arrangement to be identified, rather than valuing every generated unit at the same rate.

Site Assessment
The assessment should consider roof condition, usable area, access and electrical capacity. If you rent the property, discuss owner approval, access arrangements and responsibility for the installation before committing to work.
For illustration, 40 panels at 500 W total 20 kW.
The final design may use a different count based on the selected module. Request the actual layout and equipment schedule, not just a generic drawing.
Compare Sizes
Smaller design
Compare the 15kW package if a smaller design better matches your roof or daytime demand.

Residential Package
Check the difference in useful energy and installed cost before increasing capacity.
Larger design
Consider the 30kW residential package where the extra production has a clear use.
MJM’s residential solar installation service connects the design, site work and household requirements into one project discussion.
FAQ
Still have a question about your 20kW design? Call 0475 404 818 or send MJM Solar an enquiry.
Timing depends on access, roof work, electrical changes and the approval process. Ask for a project schedule that identifies installation days and any planned power interruption before planning household activities around the work.
It depends on your household’s load profile and the system’s production at each time of day. The solar rating is not a guarantee that every appliance or every hour of use will be covered.
A standard grid-connected solar system does not automatically keep operating during an outage. If continuity matters, request a separate assessment for compatible storage, backup equipment and the specific loads to be supported. See our battery storage options.
